About Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park is the original park of Disneyland Paris, in Marne-la-Vallée east of Paris. It opened on 12 April 1992 as Euro Disneyland and is now the most visited theme park in Europe, with some 10.2 million visitors in 2024.

Walt Disney Imagineering modelled it on Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida, but made it more European. Tomorrowland became Discoveryland, with a retro-futuristic look; the Haunted Mansion became Phantom Manor; and covered arcades along Main Street, U.S.A. keep visitors dry in Parisian weather. The castle was redesigned too, for a continent full of real ones. The park dropped the word Euro along the way and has been called Disneyland Park since 2002.

Its roughly 56 hectares are laid out like a wheel around Central Plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, with five lands and about 49 attractions. Frontierland has Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor, Adventureland Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Fantasyland Peter Pan's Flight and It's a Small World, and Discoveryland Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours. The Disneyland Railroad runs around the park with stations in four of the lands.

Every day the Disney Stars on Parade parade comes down Main Street, and in the evening Disney Tales of Magic lights up the castle. Halloween and Christmas bring their own parades and decorations.
