About Disneyland Park
Disneyland in Anaheim, California, opened on 17 July 1955 as the very first Disney park, and the only one designed and built under Walt Disney's own supervision. He bought the land near Anaheim in 1953 because the site he first had in mind, next to his studio in Burbank, was too small for his ideas.
Its lands, from Main Street, U.S.A. and Sleeping Beauty Castle to Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, became the model for the Disney parks that followed around the world. Today it shares the Disneyland Resort with Disney California Adventure.
