Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

About Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World near Orlando opened in 1998 and, at 235 hectares, was the largest theme park in the world when it opened. It is themed around nature, with real and imagined animals and places.

What sets it apart is the hundreds of live animals alongside the rides, from a savanna safari in Africa to Asia and Pandora, the world of Avatar, all around the Tree of Life. It lies apart from the other parks so the animals are disturbed as little as possible.
