About Gardaland
Gardaland in Castelnuovo del Garda, right by Lake Garda in the province of Verona, opened on 19 July 1975 and is Italy's best-known theme park. Its founder Livio Furini was inspired by a visit to Disneyland in California.
With around three million visitors a year it is among the most visited parks in Europe. Rides such as Mammut, Shaman, Raptor and Oblivion: The Black Hole sit next to family attractions, and the resort also has a Sea Life aquarium, a Legoland water park and themed hotels. Its mascot is the green dragon Prezzemolo.
