About LEGOLAND Billund
Legoland Billund in Denmark is the original Legoland, opened on 7 June 1968 right next to the first Lego factory and Billund Airport. Godtfred Kirk Christiansen built it because so many people were already coming to see the Lego models at the factory.
All later Legoland parks are modelled on it, most of all its Miniland, made of more than 20 million Lego bricks. Over 50 million people have visited since it opened, making it Denmark's largest tourist attraction outside Copenhagen, with rides and building fun for families with young children.
