About Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park lies in Surrey, between Chertsey and Staines-upon-Thames, about 32 kilometres west of central London. It opened in 1979 as a leisure park on old flooded gravel pits, which still give it its watery setting, and has grown into one of the UK's major thrill parks.
Its headline ride is Hyperia, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the United Kingdom, alongside coasters such as Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Stealth and The Swarm. Run by Merlin Entertainments, it welcomed around 1.9 million visitors in 2019.
